Following 'B.C.' - the captivating lead single from Bo Ningen's highly-anticipated new album Sudden Fictions, the London-based outfit, originally from Japan, have thrown us another curveball on 'Minimal'. Somewhat contradicting its title, 'Minimal' is easily Bo Ningen's most accessible offering to date. Featuring guest vocals from musical legend and personal friend of the band Bobby Gillespie, the textural cut consists of lyrics written in both singers native tongue's, which overlap and combine in entrancing ways. Set over a rock-solid four to the floor, the continually creative guitar work of Yuki Tsujii and Kohhei Matsuda is in drenched in effects from washy reverbs and long-lasting delays to satisfyingly discordant ring modulation, providing an experimental counterpoint to the catchy vocal melodies. Sudden Fictions will arrive on the 26th of June via Alcopop!
